Monday Sunshine... Let's Get Started!!

Negativity...

Man, it is just everywhere - it seems like everyone's got the blues lately!

Yes, times are tough, money is tight, and people are struggling. It's hard to feel positive when it feels like everything is going to hell around you.

But...

I also firmly believe that happiness is a decision you make each and every day. Some days it's easy to get up and smile, other days it's a battle; but making that decision to be happy every day is crucial. Yes, sometimes the Universe will get in your way and screw up your day; but how much easier is it to weather the storm if you've already made a decision to be happy?

I've been seeing so much doom and gloom in the blogs lately, that I've decided to do something different. A weekly feature - a bright spot in your blog-travels. Stupid jokes, happy music, funny pictures - whatever strikes my fancy.

Your job? Come and leave your positive thoughts in the comments. Maybe you have a goal for the week, maybe you have something positive to say - whatever you like! Your job this week? Tell me what you would do this week if time and money and distance and all those other roadblocks we throw up in our own way were no obstacle.

If you like, you can also send me pictures to post, ideas for future Monday posts, songs you'd like to see - whatever you like! I don't want this to just be my thing, I'd love for us to collaborate and create a Monday feature that gives us a happy place to make us all smile. There are a couple badges in the sidebar to the right that you can grab for your own blog, if you like!

The first Monday song? One of my all-time favorites from a little Canadian band called Bedouin Soundclash: When the Night Feels My Song. This song never fails to lift my spirits and get me smiling and bopping. Click the player to the right to hear it!

Cuz, hey - it's Monday... might as well dance!

I'm first!!!! :)

What would I do without those obstacles? Probably pay the house and cars and just take a year off to travel and see the world.

I have a lot of positives in my life, but we often focus on the negative, don't we? Gotta work on that.

A wonderful idea, and sorely needed!

Without the obstacles...? I'd buy a tour bus and spend 9 months of the year traveling around meeting blogger buddies! More realistically, just finding a weekend to cross the border!

Funnily enough, that picture with the happy face in a sea of sad faces used to be my desktop picture on my computer at work!

I eventually had to change it because it was too busy, but it summed up my outlook on life at the time. ;)

It's so very true. Attitude really is everything, and happiness very much is a choice. Why not dance, indeed? :-)

"happiness is a decision you make each and every day"- I love this attitude!!

My positive thought for the week? I miss my family, but I lots of free time to do whatever the hell I want!

I'm with Hubman!!! It is a choice. Absolutely. I am tickled because I am fairly free to do as I wish! I am on the road so that is good. I can do as I wish and when I wanna. I have a beautiful family and wonderful kids and a few companies that are successful and the ability to make my own way and chart my own path!

Great post!

You can't control the world, but you can control your reaction to it.

No $ obstacles, for one week's time? Maui was pretty awesome this time last year...I'd have to say collecting friends and family and heading to Hawaii would be high on my to-do list.

I'm a little late, but better late than never! My happiness mantra? I am happy and greatful for all the craziness in my life. It makes life worth living. It means people care enough to be nuts over you. And I'm happy for the weather. Happy for this upcomming long weekend. Happy you put up this post!

Awesome, love the positivity. We could all use a dose of it regularly. Way too easy to bogged down in the negativity of others, or by watching the news, etc etc etc.

I try to make a point to be positive, especially in places like work where it's easy to piss and moan. I find that the more positive I am, the more positive those around me will become. It works the other way too.

I agree. Happiness IS a choice. When I started my weight loss journey - I learned that and many other things as well.

Now - I HATE when people are soooo negative & miserable. I try to ignore those that are. It drains me.

I think I will restart my "funny Monday" thing again, and I can link you to it as well. :)
