I was a History minor at school. I always marveled at the incredible twists and turns and backtracks and about-faces that history was wont to take. It was never simple - there were always circumstances and underlying factors and outside influences at work. Some said it was dry, boring, pedantic memory work. I found it fascinating.I always wondered at the motivations of the people involved. What led them to the decisions - some good, some really, really bad - that ultimately affected world history?
This blog isn't concerned with the motivations driving major historical figures; rather, it is an exploration of my own motivations and what has come of them. I doubt they're as fascinating as those that drove the men and women of our collective past; I don't know if anyone will even find them interesting enough to comment on. I do know this: I need an outlet for my experiences. I need to tell someone before I slip up and tell just anyone.
So here it is. I'm a 40 year old woman, married, gainfully employed, with a close circle of family and friends that I treasure. And yet, somehow, all that hasn't been enough. I risk it everyday.
For what? Oh Dear Reader - I think you know.
For him.

"I risk it everyday." I hear you...
Living two very similar lives. I'm so happy to have found your blog!
I can't tell you how thrilled I am to find comments here already! Thank you both for stopping in! I'm a regular reader of both your blogs, was just too shy to comment. I'll definitely be stepping up!
Gosh, I feel lime such a guy. I too risk (though maybe I'm a less physical sense than some of y'all), but as much as I care for my on-line friends, I totally do it for myself.
What a selfish bastard I am!
