The Day... I met my husband, I was supposed to be on a date. The guy was late - again - and I lost patience and went out with my friend instead. I was in a bit of a mood that night, you could say. Hubby was the only one who braved the big flashing "Fuck Off" on my forehead and started up a conversation. In retrospect, I was too young, too eager to please, too willing to be the person I thought he wanted me to be. Ahhh, hindsight. The Day is also coming, eventually, when I'll have to make a hard decision about my husband. It's not a decision I want to make - I'm dreading it. But there is a deadline in my head, and it's approaching.
The Day... I realized that the intimacy was (maybe irretrievably) gone from our marriage, I sat and cried. I had tried everything I could think of, and everything I could find anywhere else, to rekindle it with no effect. That was the same day I signed up on an adult website. As a couple of my online friends put it - I took my sexuality and needs into my own hands. I still wish I didn't need to.
The Day... I met Patrick, was life-changing. He really showed me what it meant to have the physical affection and intimacy I was missing. He and I have shared an intense connection; and, despite all the drama of the last 6 months, I would do it all over again. He and I are still close, still friends, still talking; though I'm not sure we can ever get back to where we were. I'm not sure we should.
The Day... Aiden re-entered my life, it was unexpected. I was in deep with Patrick and not interested in splitting my focus any further; but Aiden kept trying, stayed in touch, kept talking, and eventually I was so intrigued by my response to him that I finally agreed to meet him the next time he was in town. And what a meeting. All the fire and attraction that was present from the very first moment with him came roaring back. He has taught me more about myself, and the kind of passion I'm capable of than any other person in my life, ever. I'm growing very impatient to see him again.
The Day... he'll be here again is coming up fast. Not so long it seemed SO far away, SO long to wait... and now it's in sight. I am excited to see him, dying to touch that fire again, to see where our passion takes us on that day.

Amazing what a difference a day makes, right?
What a great post, so many moments that cause us to look back at our life in amazement.
Most everyone else has so far been concentrating on a single day or event. You're the only one I've seen that has chosen to run with the theme to the extent of pulling several powerful Days from your memories. It works surprisingly well!
As always, I hope you can find a solution to the problems that make your life not-so-perfect.
And thanks for caring enough to add me to the list of participants! :)

As I said...yesterday you have no control over...tomorrow you have no control over...but, today you have the control...total control to make it whatever you want it to be ;-)
I love your take on this theme. I dont envy your decisions that you need to make.
Now I understand your comment on my recent post.
I loved your take on the theme!
Those are some interesting days you chose to write about - I do hope you can make the right decision for you when that day comes.
*hugs*
Isn't it interesting which days stand out in your mind for what reason?
Great post!

My goodness, honey. So heartfelt and wistful. I have to follow you more often now.
That decision is one I've put out of my head so many times... it's not one any of us wants to make, is it?
*hugs* but yes, what a day all three have given you! And importantly, at some point, each has given you good days...
I love where you went with this topic :)
Great post! And it brings so many thoughts to mind. I will be thinking about this one all day today...thinking about your significant days and thinking about mine. Unfortunately, right now I'm not thinking of necessarily happy ones. But this is good - thank you!
Didn't Steinbeck author a booked titled East of Aiden? If he didn't then maybe you should. It would make for a sizzling read (unless Patrick sizzled more).
Okay, I know what Steinbeck really wrote....East of Aiden (Eden) just came to mind reading this post. You sound happy.
Here late Scarlett. You have conveyed such sincerity and honesty in this piece. It to makes me reflective on my journey and the choices we face along the way.
Look forward to hearing about your upcoming visit with Aiden...
xx
